Pavilion Interior
The complete interior of the pavilion is timber. The height of the curving arches and the natural warmth of the timber helps create the cocoon-like environment.
This is a small prototype to prove the concept. As well as research into contemporary timber engineering and architecture, historical uses of plywood such as the DeHavilland Mosquito, (the WWII aircraft) which was made completely in curving plywood was a great inspiration. The timber aircraft saved the day when metal supply ran out.
